Frequently asked questions

How far is Incheon Airport from Seoul?

Incheon Airport is about 50 km west of central Seoul, on Yeongjong Island. The AREX express train reaches Seoul Station in roughly 45 to 60 minutes, airport limousine buses serve most districts and hotels in 60–90 minutes, and a taxi takes about an hour depending on traffic.

Which terminal do I need: Terminal 1 or Terminal 2?

Korean Air, Delta and most SkyTeam airlines use Terminal 2. Lufthansa and most other foreign airlines use Terminal 1. The terminals are several kilometres apart and connected by a free shuttle train (airside and landside) and buses, so allow at least 15–20 minutes to switch. Always check your ticket, as allocations can change.

What can I do during a layover at Incheon?

Transit passengers can visit the Korean Traditional Culture Centre for free crafts, watch traditional performances and royal-procession shows held in the terminal, relax in rest zones and lounges, or use the airport’s transit hotel. Incheon Airport also offers free or low-cost transit tours to nearby sights for passengers with longer layovers — check current tour times and eligibility at the transit tour desk.

How long is the flight from Seoul to Frankfurt?

Korean Air and Lufthansa fly nonstop between Incheon and Frankfurt. Because flights currently route around Russian airspace, the trip takes about 13.5 to 14.5 hours. Lufthansa arrives at Frankfurt Terminal 1; Korean Air (SkyTeam) usually uses Terminal 3 — check your booking.

How early should I arrive at Incheon for a flight to Europe?

Plan on about 3 hours before an international departure. Many passport holders can register for Korea’s Smart Entry Service, and online check-in plus self bag drop make departure faster.
